In this work we present an alternative approach, named SecBox, to the security problem regarding to files and media content inside set-top boxes. Basically, the system uses a combination of cryptography and steganography algorithms, not properly explored in the area. As a result, SecBox helps to prevent storage devices hacking and digital piracy in Linux based set-top boxes.
