Software engineering is knowledge-intensiveactivity and knowledge is thought to be the mostimportant asset in an organization. Therefore this paperpresents an approach to support KnowledgeManagement in Software Development Environments thatis strongly based on ontologies: Enterprise OrientedSoftware Development Environments. After describing thecomponents of such environments, this paper focuses onthe Enterprise Ontology and on three tools developedbased on this ontology: a 'yellow pages' tool which showsthe distribution of competencies in the organization, atool to support the allocation of people to softwareprojects and a graphic tool for representing andvisualizing organizational processes.
